1. My definition of art has changed drastically after taking this class and I now see art in a completely different light. Before taking this class I thought art involved a bunch of rules that you had to follow in order for the art piece to look good. I knew that art involved personally creativity but I saw it as something that had to be very exact and had to look a certain way. Now I realize that there is no wrong way to do art and that anything that has been created by either man or nature is art and should be appreciated.
2. If I could do over one project I would do over my artist solve balloon project. I would redo this project because I think it was too simple and it didn't reflect my capabilities. I think I could have made the piece more detailed and maybe put something else in the background to make it more interesting. If I did over the project, I might put another object in it like a bike that the balloons could be attached to and I might add clouds to the sky.
3. My most successful project was my first final project, the baby portrait. The theme of this piece was a closeup portrait of my cousin's baby from the shoulders up. The process of this project included planning the portrait and practicing eyes, noses, ect., finding pictures of the baby, outlining the portrait, and shading. I thought this was successful because it looked realistic and the shading was done well according to my reference photo.
4. The medium I enjoyed working with the most was acrylic paint because I liked mixing paints to get new colors and being able to add interesting color to pictures. I think painting is one of my best mediums and I like using it more than using more hands on mediums like clay. A medium that I wish I had explored is pen because I have never used pen to draw a picture before and I think it would be cool to experiment with a more permanent method.
5. A piece that reflects me as an artist is the art journaling because it shows my personality and artistic abilities. I have a connection with this piece because it expresses who I am through the colors and textures I used along with the symbols. The art journaling piece shows my artistic style and it Is one of my favorite pieces because it expresses who I am so well
